| us kā chěhrah, us ke ḳhadd-o-ḳhāl yād āte nahīñ
| ik shabistāñ yād hai
| ik barahnah jism ātish-dāñ ke pās
| farsh par qālīn, qālīnoñ pah sej
| dhāt aur patthar ke but
| goshah-e dīvār meñ hañste huʾe!
| aur ātish-dāñ meñ angāroñ kā shor
| un butoñ kī be-ḥisī par ḳhashmgīñ
| ujlī ujlī ūñchī dīvāroñ pah ʿaks
| un farangī ḥākimoñ kī yādgār
| jin kī talvāroñ ne rakkhā thā yahāñ
| sang-e bunyād-e farang!
| 
| us kā chěhrah us ke ḳhadd-o-ḳhāl yād āte nahīñ
| ik barahnah jism ab tak yād hai
| ajnabī ʿaurat kā jism,
| mere "hoñṭoñ" ne liyā thā rāt bhar
| jis se arbāb-e vat̤an kī be-basī kā intiqām
| vuh barahnah jism ab tak yād hai!
