| chhāʾe huʾe haiñ chār t̤araf pārah-hā-e abr
| āġhosh meñ liʾe huʾe dunyā-e āb-o-rang
| mere liʾe hai un kī garaj meñ sarod-e chang
| paiġhām-e iñbisāt̤ hai mujh ko ṣadā-e abr
| uṭṭhī hai halke halke saroñ meñ navā-e abr
| aur qat̤r-hā-e āb bajāte haiñ jaltarang
| gahrāʾiyoñ meñ rūḥ kī jāgī hai har umang
| dil meñ utar rahe haiñ mire naġhmah-hā-e abr
| muddat se luṭ chuke the tamannā ke bār-o-barg
| chhāyā huʾā thā rūḥ pah goyā sukūt-e marg
| chhūṛā hai āj zīst ko ḳhvāb-e jamūd ne
| un bādaloñ se tāzah huʾī hai ḥayāt phir
| mere liye javān hai yih kāʾināt phir
| shādāb kar diyā hai dil un ke sarod ne!
